Pinteresting

I love, love, love pinterest!  I thought I would post a few of the things I've found on there that I like!

Love.

 Even though I now live in SC, I grew up in NC and I miss it so much!  I'm enjoying my new life here, but a part of my heart will always been in Charlotte :)

I think this one is self-explanatory!!  My blood runs orange for sure :)

I love coffee and I love reading.  When David and I get our office set up, I'd love to have a little reading nook area, print and frame this to hang where I read!

I love this verse and try to live by it daily.  I have always been strong, working on the dignity, and trying to to be fearful of what the future holds! :)

And I love this saying.  David and I have only been together for 5 years (for some people, that is a long time!) but I can only imagine that this is what our love will look like when we've been together for 50 years!

And this picture belongs to The Color Run that is coming to Charlotte in October.  It looks like so much fun and I can't wait to sign up!

Destinations
I have inherited a love for traveling from my grandparents who spent a lot of time providing the grandkids with opportunities to visit different places and learn about different cultures.  I love seeing pictures on Pinterest of places I've visited.  I love the memories I have of each place.

 Beautiful Venice, Italy

 Brugge, Belgium

 London, England

The Ponte Vecchio in Florence, Italy

Amsterdam, The capitol of The Netherlands and home of Anne Frank :)

Crafts

 I want to frame one of our wedding pictures and surround it with lyrics from the song we danced to at our wedding :)
Home made magnets for the refrigerator!

I made coasters for my mom and MIL for christmas :)

Humor
Some of the things on pinterest just make me laugh!

 This cracks me up because Jovie is the same way! :)

  And I love Harry Potter!  If I found out I was Dumbledore in someone's phone, I wouldn't tell either! ;)

 And being that my first degree was in psychology, this is self- explanatory!

On a completely different note, I received a "blog award" from Jennifer!
The Liebster Award is given to bloggers with less than 200 followers who are "up-and-coming".  With 11 followers, I think I more than qualify, ha!  Although I'm not sure I'm "up-and-coming"!!  I just blog for me! :)  But here are the rules:

Rules:
*Thank your award presenter on your blog {check}
*Link back to the blogger who presented you with the award {check}
*Copy and paste the award to your blog {check}
*Present the Liebster Award to 5 blogs that have fewer then 200 followers that you think deserve to be recognized {see below}
*Let them know by leaving a comment on their blog {doing that right after I finish this post}

I'm just going to tag you here instead of leaving a comment :)  And I don't have 5 blogs with less than 200 followers...woops?

Ashley- although Ashley's blog is private, she is a wonderful writer and has the cutest little boy :)

Weekend Fun!

Our new meal of the week didn't actually happen over the weekend, but I'm adding it to this post because I don't want to write two posts!  On Thursday, our new meal of the week was lime-infused, honey-crusted chicken.

I got the recipe off of Pinterest.  I'm kind of wary about making recipes off Pinterest because I've heard of a few that have been busts!  But this one just seemed so good that David and I decided to go ahead and try it.  The directions say to mix up the marinade the night before and let the chicken soak over night.  Our chicken wasn't thawed so it really sat for about 4 hours before we cooked it and I don't think it affected the taste at all.  It was so good and easy to make!  We had ours with some french green beans on the side. :)

On Friday, I picked David up at work and we headed home to Charlotte for Scott's birthday!  Our family has always done birthdays and this one was no different.  Scott requested seafood pasta and homemade ice cream!

I am so glad we were able to go home for a night. I have to work over Thanksgiving so I won't be able to go home for this holiday.  I was getting quite bummed about it not getting to see my family, but now I have!

I had to work Saturday night so we headed home Saturday morning so I could get a few hours of sleep before I went in.  When I got home Sunday morning I slept until noon and then David and I headed out for a little Christmas shopping! :)  We have been wanting a new bedroom suite for a while because we have been sleeping in David's childhood bed and it's just not cutting it anymore!  We were ready for something new and we found it yesterday!  So, our Christmas gift to each other is this new bedroom suite from Ashley furniture:

We love the design.  We've been looking for a while and comparing and just kept coming back to this so we bit the bullet and will have a new bed come January. :)  We are going to use the month or so between getting our bed to paint our room, find a nice duvet, pillows, sheets, etc.  and get everything ready so once the set is here, we can just start using it!  We are so excited!  (We don't have the bench, but I really like that idea so we might look into finding one.  And our bedside tables are slightly different than the ones in this picture...we like ours better!)

I am back to work tonight so I'm getting some things done this morning (like blogging...it's the important things, right?!) and then I'll get a nap in this afternoon.  I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday week!
